Location: Taylor County, West VirginaDescription: G&O provided comprehensive engineering and design services to the West Virginia Division of Highways to replace the Boothsville T-beam Bridge which carries WV Route 73/73 over Hustead Run. The previous two-span, concrete T-beam Bridge was in a state of distress.
Significant Facts:- The bridge is located on a reverse curve horizontal alignment.
- A detour road and bridge were developed in staged construction schemes to accommodate traffic during construction of the bridge.
- To satisfy the Historic Preservation Office requirements for this bridge site, form-liners were used on the concrete parapets and the abutments to simulate a stone facade.


Project Services: G&O provided survey services; span arrangement studies; type, size and location design and plans; geotechnical engineering; final design and plans; and roadway reconstruction and Right-of-Way plans for the replacement bridge.
