Description: This 100-acre shopping complex includes over 800,000 square feet of retail space, 4,000 parking spaces, circulation roads, and sidewalks. The 42-building space is in use by restaurants and retail shops.
Significant Facts:
- The shopping center has nine access points onto North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) streets, which required permitting from various City of Raleigh departments. G&O had to design and receive permitting for traffic entrances and associated acceleration/ deceleration turning lanes into the shopping center.
- The shopping center's sensitive site design was due to the large quantity of rock on-site. G&O paid close attention to the grading design to balance the large site, reducing the construction costs.
