Greenhorne & O'Mara's President and CEO Wins National Leadership Award

LAUREL, MD – December 30, 2009 – Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O) President and CEO Frank R. Finch, P.E., was recently awarded the American Society of Civil Engineer's (ASCE) John I. Parcel - Leif J. Sverdrup Civil Engineering Management Award. The award recognizes industry leaders who have made a significant contribution to the civil engineering field.

Mr. Finch was the leadership luncheon keynote speaker and received his award at the 139th annual conference in Kansas City, MO. Mr. Finch's speech, "Engineer Leaders: Teddy's Man in the Arena," focused on the importance of engineers taking on leadership roles.

"Engineers need to be centrally engaged in the toughest issues facing our society. Our biggest challenges are interdisciplinary; technical, financial, political – and good solutions demand engineering leadership," said Finch.

Mr. Finch has more than 30 years of broad-based experience in the engineering and construction industry. He was a combat-decorated Army officer and advanced to senior positions with the U.S. military, including leadership of the Pentagon's Army Environmental Program. He also served as District Engineer for the Corps of Engineers' Baltimore and Chicago Districts. After his Army career Mr. Finch served in executive positions for several private sector firms and as Executive Director of the South Florida Water Management District. He joined G&O in 2002 as Senior Vice President for Water & Environment and became President in 2007.
