LAUREL, MD – July 15, 2009 – Engineering consulting firm Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O) announces the hiring of William Zung, CFM.  Mr. Zung will manage a new Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Regional Support Center in Kansas City, MO, in conjunction with the Strategic Alliance for Risk Reduction (STARR) Joint Venture team, of which G&O is a partner.  STARR is assisting the FEMA Risk Mapping, Assessing, and Planning (Risk MAP) project for FEMA Region VII (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska).

G&O will be involved in collecting new digital flood hazard data, creating maps and other Risk MAP products, and promoting partnerships with local communities, states, and other groups to help reduce the risk of floods and improve flood planning in Region VII and across the country.
