Greenhorne & O'Mara Hires New Fairfax Department Head to Oversee Engineering Operations

LAUREL, MD – September 24, 2008 – Engineering consulting firm, Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O) announced the hiring of Charles E. "Cody" Smith, P.E., as the Engineering Department Head in its Chantilly-based Fairfax County, Virginia office. Mr. Smith will oversee G&O's engineering operations in Northern Virginia, and his responsibilities will include inter-market coordination, financial budgets, and marketing and sales.

Mr. Smith has worked on numerous public infrastructure, residential, and mixed-use development projects in the Washington, D.C. metro area including National Harbor and Central Parke at Victoria Falls in Maryland, and South Riding and the Prince William Parkway in Virginia. Throughout his career, Mr. Smith has directly overseen the design, permitting, budgeting, scheduling, bidding, and construction on a broad range of projects, as well as meeting with and providing project information to interested citizen groups.

Mr. Smith is a Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia and Nevada, and earned his Master of Science degree in Civil Infrastructure Engineering and his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
