Greenhorne & O'Mara Strengthens Florida Environmental Presence with Acquisition of EMS

LAUREL, MD – August 28, 2008 – Engineering consulting firm, Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O), announced that it has acquired Orlando, Florida area firm EMS Scientists, Engineers, Planners (EMS). The move is a continuation of the expansion of G&O’s Water & Environment (W&E) division and will broaden its environmental, transportation, and civil engineering presence throughout the Southeast.

Vince DiCamillo, CFM, Regional Vice President and Market Leader for the W&E division commented, "We are thrilled that EMS has joined G&O. This will enable us to expand our professional services with new practices such as air and noise assessments and modeling, and build upon our existing competencies and client base."

EMS has branch offices in St. Augustine and DeLand and offers a variety of environmental services among its three offices, including wetland delineation and permitting, endangered species surveys and permitting, mitigation bank design and permitting, Development of Regional Impact (DRI) studies, and transportation Project Development & Environment (PD&E) studies. Clients range from private land owners to city, county, state, and federal agencies.
