LAUREL, MD – May 21, 2008 – Maryland-based engineering consulting firm Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O) announced the hiring of Mary L. Searing, P.E. as the new Division Manager and Water Resources Service Director. Ms. Searing will be based in the Laurel, MD, national headquarters, and will be responsible for strategic business development. She will also provide technical leadership for a full range of water resources projects throughout all G&O geographic regions.

Ms. Searing has more than 16 years of environmental engineering experience, with 8 of those years spent at various departments within the Anne Arundel County (MD) government. Most recently she was the Program Manager for the Bureau of Engineering, Watershed Management Program.

Ms. Searing has won several engineering awards, which include the Blue Heron Award for innovation. She is a member of Sigma Xi (The Scientific Research Society), American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Agricultural Engineers, Project Management Institute, and American Water Resources Association.

Ms. Searing is a Ph.D. candidate in Civil Engineering at the University of Maryland at College Park. She holds an M.S. in Biological Resources/Agricultural Engineering and a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering, which were also earned at the University of Maryland.
