Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O) Appoints John Wiser as Department Head, Environmental Planning and Compliance in its Baltimore (MD) Office

LAUREL, MD – July 18, 2007 – In response to project successes and continued growth, engineering consulting firm Greenhorne & O'Mara, Inc. (G&O), announces the appointment of John Wiser as Department Head, Environmental Planning and Compliance, for its Baltimore office. Mr. Wiser will be responsible for overseeing environmental policy and regulatory compliance and for providing environmental support focused on supporting transportation clients.

With more than 16 years of experience in environmental consulting, Mr. Wiser has directed many projects for clients such as the National Park Service, the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, the Maryland State Highway Administration, the Maryland Transportation Authority, and local departments of Transportation. His projects have included National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation; environmental permitting, wetlands, threatened and endangered species, and cultural resources. Mr. Wiser has also managed numerous ecosystem restoration, wetland mitigation, and lake management projects. He earned a B.S. in Biology from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. He has completed the Maryland American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) / Maryland Leadership Training and serves on the ACEC Environmental Steering Committee.
