LAUREL, MD – May 24, 2007 – In response to newly acquired contracts, engineering consulting firm Greenhorne & O'Mara (G&O), announces the appointment of John D. (Darrell) Weeks as Senior Designer in the Transportation Engineering group in its Bonifay, FL office. Mr. Weeks will play a key role in transportation design functions for projects in Northwest Florida.
"We are expanding our project responsibilities in the Florida Panhandle and Darrell is the first design employee that we have hired for our Bonifay office," said Edward Prescott, Vice President, Florida Operations, Transportation Group. "Darrell will also be involved in design reviews and providing design input for the Construction Engineering Inspection projects that we are managing in this region. With his broad design experience and many years with the Florida Department of Transportation, Darrell will be a great asset in supporting all areas of G&O's engineering services in Northwest Florida."
Mr. Weeks has more than 33 years experience in the transportation industry, more than 28 years with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Mr. Weeks has worked in many capacities with FDOT – from an Engineering Technician to a Project Manager. He attended Liberty University and the U.S. Army Training Center at Fort Gordon, GA. Mr. Weeks is a Captain (Retired) in the Florida Army National Guard and an instructor at the Florida National Guard Military Academy.
